Supplement Your Home Insurance

  • Flood Insurance

Protects you from property damage caused by floods. Regardless of how close you live to a flood zone, you may still be at risk of unexpected flooding.

  • Umbrella Insurance

Protects you from claims that extend beyond the liability coverage limits of your home, auto, renters, boat, or other personal liability policies.

  • Home & Auto Bundle

Sometimes the best way to save on your home and auto insurance is to bundle them together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not often, but insurance does go up every year with the rate of inflation. That's the case with both home and auto insurance. Usually, at renewal for both types, you’ll be notified of any significant changes. Your annual renewal period is a good time to talk to your agent about how much you're paying and see if there are any cheaper options.
That’s easy! When you visit our website, there’s a link titled “personal insurance”. If you hover over it, you’ll get the opportunity to choose either home, auto, or life insurance. That’ll take you to a specific form you can fill out!
We always recommend a home inspection before listing your home. The process might be a bit costly sometimes, but it definitely helps you in the selling process!
The best part of Lapointe is that we do your shopping around FOR YOU and we offer more than one option, it’s totally up to you to choose!
Great news, we already have an option for your furniture under “personal property” on your policy.
Here are the most important parts:
  • Dwelling coverage: pays for your actual house, also known as the amount we pay to help you fix or rebuild your home if the damage is covered.
  • Other Structures: The “other” structures of your home, like your shed or deck! This coverage is usually 10% of your dwelling coverage.
  • Personal Property: Your personal property includes all your stuff and is usually between 50%-70% of your dwelling coverage.
  • Loss of Use: Covers the costs of your accommodations somewhere else if your house needs to be worked on.
  • Liability and Medical Payments:  Covers you in instances where someone gets hurt on your property or you accidentally hurt someone outside of your property.
We hope this clears up some questions! Please also feel free to refer to this informational video for clarification!
Everything we need to know prior to shopping around is found in our quick and easy home insurance form.
That’s great news! Click on this quick form that’ll help get you started. When you answer these easy questions, we’ll know how to shop around for you and we’ll find you extraordinary quotes.

Compare Your Home Insurance Rate

Is your current home insurance premium too high? We’ll shop our carriers to find you a rate that gets you the coverage you need at a rate you can afford.

  • Flood Insurance

Floods, the #1 natural disaster in the United States, are one exposure that a homeowners policy will not provide coverage for. Even if you aren’t in a flood zone, you are still at risk. In fact, over 20% of flood insurance claims come from people who live outside of the “high-risk flood areas."

  • Umbrella Insurance

Protects you from claims that extend beyond the liability coverage limits of your home, auto, renters, boat, or other personal liability policies.

  • Home & Auto Bundle

Sometimes the best way to save on your home and auto insurance is to bundle them together.

At Lapointe Insurance, many of us are proud homeowners just like you. We raise our families in our homes, entertain our closest friends, and kick back and relax after a hard day’s work. And like you, our homes are right here in beautiful Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

We’re dedicated to making sure you have the coverage you need for your home. We’ll listen to you and your unique needs, and then work to make sure you’re never missing any coverages that will cost you out-of-pocket down the road.

We have access to over a dozen insurance carriers, and that’s what makes working with an independent agency like us so great. We can quickly compare several quotes and coverages to get you the best possible MA or RI homeowners insurance for your specific home. Some insurance carriers are better at protecting older homes, while others have the best deals on newer construction. If you live in a coastal area, we have several carriers that specialize in protecting against your unique exposures too.

Over the years we’ve learned how important it is to shop around for the best coverage for each home. Whether you’re located in Fall River, North Attleboro, Westport or anywhere else in Massachusetts or nearby Rhode Island, we can help protect you and the ones closest to you.

At Lapointe Insurance, we know what works for one Massachusetts or Rhode Island homeowner won’t necessarily work for another. That’s why we listen to you, determine your situation, and then create an individualized homeowners insurance plan that addresses your unique needs—and home.
