Life Insurance

Life Insurance isn’t fun to think about, but for anybody who provides for others financially, it’s extremely important. If something tragic happens, life insurance proceeds can help to do many things: cost of funerals; living expenses or outstanding debt like a mortgage or credit card payments; and even paying for your children’s tuition.

Anyone who provides financial support for others, should consider buying a life insurance policy of some kind. That could be married couples, parents, or even single people who take care of their aging parent or another loved one.

At Lapointe Insurance, we recommend that our clients start thinking about life insurance when something changes in your life. Examples of these life events could be marriage, the birth of a new child, getting a mortgage, or perhaps even a big promotion at work. We’re here for you when these changes in your life happen, and we’ll be happy to meet with you and determine what options are best for your specific situation.

Maybe you need a term insurance policy to provide coverage until your children graduate from college or you pay off your mortgage. Perhaps you need permanent insurance that accumulates cash value through the years. Depending on your unique family financial situation, you may even consider some combination of the two.

As a local independent insurance agency, we give you the benefit of choosing between insurance companies and we’ll coordinate with these top-rated carriers to find and tailor the best MA or RI life insurance policy for you.

Types of Life Insurance Policies

  • Term Life Insurance

The more affordable of the two options is term life insurance. As the name suggests, it gives you coverage for a specific time period (or “term”) and will only pay the beneficiary if the insured dies during that specific time period.

  • Permanent, or "Whole Life," Life Insurance

If you want life-long protection, then permanent insurance is the option for you. If you pay the premium and don’t take out withdrawals or loans on the policy, the insurance company will pay the full amount of the insurance.
